Job Description

As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you will be involved in all stages of building projects, from concept through to handover. You’ll take a lead on the design of mechanical systems, ensuring they align with the client’s vision for sustainable and energy-efficient buildings.

You’ll work closely with clients, architects, and other specialists to deliver innovative, high-quality designs while contributing to the company’s reputation for excellence in low-carbon engineering.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Develop and design low-energy mechanical systems tailored to client needs.
  • Lead on building physics analysis and integrate results into your designs.
  • Prepare technical drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and other design teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
  • Oversee on-site progress and take a lead role in commissioning and handover stages.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and contribute to business growth.

Job Requirements :

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Chartered or near-chartered status (CEng) with a professional institution.
  • 4+ years’ experience in Mechanical Building Services roles.
  • A BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or a related qualification.
  • Expertise in low-energy, sustainable design, and a commitment to tackling climate change.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and ideally IES, PHPP, or SAP.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong technical skills and attention to detail, with a drive to deliver innovative solutions.
