Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll work closely with senior engineers and directors to support the delivery of projects across the UK. You’ll play a key role in designing mechanical systems for various sectors, contributing to sustainable engineering solutions while building your expertise and progressing toward leading your own projects.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with senior engineers to design mechanical building services systems for a variety of projects.
  • Contribute to innovative, sustainable designs that align with net-zero carbon goals.
  • Prepare design drawings, calculations, reports, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects and contractors.
  • Gain exposure to residential, leisure, and education projects, ensuring variety in your work.
  • Progress toward leading your own projects, with support to advance to Senior and Principal Engineer roles.

Job Requirements :

  • Hold a BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or a related qualification.
  • Have 2–4 years’ experience in mechanical design within building services.
  • Be passionate about sustainable and low-carbon design.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and (ideally) IES or other simulation tools.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and teamworking skills.
  • Be proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a supportive team environment.
